May 2015: A Novel Taking Shape and Anticipating the Mountains Beyond

I was excited last month to share a crowdfunding publishing opportunity with the traditional-Indie hybrid company, Inkshares, for what will be my debut novel, Blood Dawn. Here we are now into May and I’m beginning a series of countdowns each month toward April 11, 2016, when the campaign will be over–and when I plan to have a finished, polished manuscript.

Usually crowdfunding tends to pick up in the last 2-3 months, so my purpose in beginning early is so that I have plenty of time to make what I’m doing known and to slowly connect with readers. My thanks to those who have shown support and pre-ordered a copy!

Meanwhile, once a month, I will be releasing one chapter of Blood Dawn exclusively to those who sign up for my newsletter. I will be sharing the first three chapters of Blood Dawn on my Inkshares page (which you can view here), however, for those who subscribe to my newsletter, I will be sharing an additional 9 chapter between now and April 11, 2016–one a month–exclusively with my newsletter subscribers. If you’re interested, be sure to check out my newsletter page and sign up.

This has been a busy month for me, and with a great deal more to do to get my chapter ready for my first newsletter on Monday, I’ll be keeping this brief. More (exciting things) to come in my newsletter, so stay tuned.

For those who didn’t get a chance to visit my guest blog post with fellow author, Alex Schiffer, here is a link. It is the start of a monthly series which Alex will be hosting where I will write about discipline in the life of a writer and how one can create, cultivate, and practice it to move ahead from vision to success. Be sure while you’re there to check out Alex’s latest release, a novella called The Last Werewolf–here is a link to his book’s page: http://www.alexschiffer.com/books.html
